Arizona State

Beating Washington, 26 February would have put Arizona in the first place in the Pac-10.

It has not happened. The Sun Devils lost 73-70 in overtime to the Huskies, the second loss after just one game 7 winning streak. You still have a chance to do it, since it only 1 1 / 2 games behind Washington in the standings with UCLA in California and 10-5 bound.

Washington held the lead for most of the first half, separated by up to 13 points. JeffPendergraph led the Sun Devils with 24 field goals and 13 rebounds. James Harden had 19 points, although he scored only 4 in the second half and dirty in the early overtime. "Unbelievable," said senior Jon Brockman from holiday and Gant tag team effort.

"They were always around James harassed, always with him, denied him. They carried him just trying to get the ball. They were always there, always had a body on him."

"All of our help page has a great job on him, so good. He is aHeckuva player, and we had a pretty good job guarding him. "

"It is a big challenge," said Justin holiday. "It took the whole team for us to stop it and that's what we did. The first half he had a little, but in the second half we took our business to him and as a team down intently. And that's why we won. "

At the end of the first half of Arizona, drawn by only one point (34-35), but Washington dominated the second half to Venoy Overton is on the ball andPendergraph was stealing, taking the lead with a jumper.

Arizona held the lead until 46 seconds left in regulation, as Justin Dentmon sank a jumper on the lead for the Huskies to recover. Two turnovers of Dentmon and from Harden dunk sealed the regulation at 61-61 and sent them into overtime.

"We have our asses off, has this not simply out how we wanted it," said Harden.

The Sun Devils were able to keep the lead at some point during the overtime battle. TwoMissed field goals, two turnovers, five fouls and four missed free throws in the last five minutes helped the problem.

Dentmon also a large contribution to the win for the Huskies to make up for the crucial mistake at the end of the second half. He scored the last point on a free after a foul by Rihard Kuksiks throw with 3 seconds left.

The game freezes Washington in the first place, albeit with only a few weeks and a few games in the regularSeason pass could end there. Arizona is obviously disappointed with the loss, but focuses on the next game.

"Every loss hurts," Sendek said Thursday night before a quiet locker room at Bank of America Arena in Seattle, "but they include an all-XVIII. They all have equal weight in the rankings. When you pour your heart out, as Of course, our guys did not feel good. But we credit Washington. They're an excellent basketball team. "(AZcentral.com)

College Football – If The BCS Championship Game Was Today, Missouri and West Virginia Would Play

Rivalry week in college football had a profound impact on the BCS National Championship Game contenders. For openers, he has three teams-Missouri, West Virginia and Hawaii-it right by winning super important games.

No. 3-place Missouri (11-1) stopped No. 2-place Kansas' (undefeated 11-1) Streak at 11 by beating the Jayhawks 36-28 in a game that was not so, as would the guests, to close. Missouri led 14-0 at the half and let Kansas back into the game by up to 3 touchdowns in the4. Quarter thought the game was really over.

Anyway, I've played all season long found fault about the weak schedule Kansas to run, his 11 wins and now am justified if it was bad against superior competition.

Kansas evaluated the game 101 assessing the strength of schedule among 119 Division 1A schools, and left the game 90th after the game No. 3-place Missouri. The Jayhawks, who are BCS bowl somewhere is bound to find easy to get out.

The Missouri Tigers are nowBig 12 North champs and headed for a confrontation with rank No. 10 South champs Oklahoma for the Big 12 title. Missouri only loss this year was to Oklahoma in an away game, 41-31, to Missouri, the Sooners allowed 18 straight 4th Quarter points.

Missouri waiting for a Big 12 Conference title in 38 years. Should they win, they will undoubtedly play in the BCS National Championship Game.

Missouri junior quarterback Chase Daniel, whose hero is the legendary Green Bay quarterbackBrett Favre (pronounced Farve), is all he has gone crazy to be and then some.

Daniel was a stop against Kansas, going 40 for 49 for 361 yards and 3 touchdowns and no complaints and now has a total of 4029 meters and broke his own school record.

Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel has insiders here in Washington sums than Pinkel was a member of the successful Husky Don James' team. Pinkel was the receivers coach from 1979 to 1983 and the offensive coordinator from 1984 to1990th Pinkel coached many famous Washington, including Chris Chandler, Mark Brunell, Billy Joe Hobert, Lincoln Kennedy, Greg Lewis, Hugh Millen, Steve Pelleur, Kevin Gogan and Ed Cunningham.

Don James is the heart and soul of Washington football, a two-time National Coach of the Year who has won a national championship in 1991, went 6 Rose Bowls won an Orange Bowl title, 10-5, and was in 15 appearances Shell in 18 years as head coach. James is the Dawgfather and hasthe ring, from the National Championship 1991 kiss to prove it.

No. 4-place West Virginia (10-1) took care of business by down like a ton of bricks on No. 20-place Connecticut (9-3), 66-21, scoring 7 touchdowns on the Connecticut Huskies.

No. 14-place Hawaii, the only Division 1A team left unbeaten 11-0, outlasted No. 17-place Boise State (10-2), 39-27, the Mountain West title with a perfect 8-0 record record .

I have also found fault over the entire seasoncupcake schedule of Hawaii, and have now seen that the Boise State Broncos, the other cupcake schedule played, they are not good either. I saw a good part of the Hawaii-Boise State match-up and think Warrior's senior quarterback Colt Brennan could play much better 1A teams.

Lost four other top-25 team if they get a chance and had previously.

No. 1-ranked LSU (10-2) blew it big time by Arkansas (8-4) beat them 50-48 in overtime. So much for theTigers hopes the national championship game.

No. 7-place Arizona State (9-2) was from No. 11 to beat USC-place (9-2), 44-24.

Square No. 9 Oregon (8-3) was developed by the UCLA (6-5), 16-0 excluded, and is now faster than a cheap folding chair K-Mart, as the Ducks lost their superstar quarterback and offensive leader Dennis Dixon with a cruciate ligament.

No. 13-place Texas (9-3) was provided by the Texas A & M (7-5), 38-30, in the rivalry head.

Fourteen teams did exactly what they wereis expected: victory against their rival in-state without a measurable impact on the BCS title game:

No. 6-place Georgia (10-2) Georgia Tech (lay 7-5), 31-17 to win games, brag about, but not for the SEC championship. Georgia, Tennessee, bound for the West Conference at 6-2, but lost to Tennessee 35-14 as Tennessee advances to the SEC title game against LSU.

No. 8-rank Virginia Tech (10-2) outscored No. 16-place Virginia (9-3) 10-0 in the final quarterDelete the Cavaliers, 33-21.

No. 10-place Oklahoma (10-2) beat Oklahoma State 49-17 to win the Big 12 South title at 6-2 and Missouri in the Big 12 title game face.

No. 12-place Florida (9-3) bombed Florida State (7-5), 45-12.

No. 21-square Clemson (9-3) barely nipped South Carolina (6-6) 23-21.

No. 23-place Brigham Young (9-2) behind 3-0 at the half, but recovered to beat Utah (8-4), 17-10, and clinch the Mountain West championship with a perfect 7-0record.

No. 25-place Auburn (8-4) stung Alabama (6-6), 17-10. The Crimson Tide's $ 4 million coach Nick Saban, wonder what has happened in his first year debut as the highest-paid coach in college football. Alabama fans know what happened, and they are not happy and happy.

Bowling Green (8-4) whipped Toledo 37-10.

Mississippi State (7-5) beat Mississippi by a field goal, 17-14.

Florida Atlantic (6-5) outran Florida International (0-11), 55-23.

Louisiana-Monroe(6-6) beat Louisiana-Lafayette 17-11.

Ohio (6-6) outlasted Miami Ohio 38-29.

Washington State (5-7) outscored Washington 14-7 in the final quarter to beat the Huskies 42-35.

North Carolina (4-8) won in overtime against Duke (1-11), 20-14.

By Sunday night it had (11-25-07) the new BCS Standings Missouri 1st, 2nd West Virginia, Ohio State 3rd, 4th Georgia, Kansas, 5th and 6 Virginia Tech. Nothing else much matters. If you are wondering, is Hawaii12. in the BCS Standings. The regular season is over Ohio State, Georgia, Kansas and Virginia Tech.

If the BCS National Championship have been played today, Missouri and West Virginia would be competing for the title, but there is unfinished business. Missouri must beat Oklahoma for the Big 12 title, and West Virginia will beat Pittsburgh or all bets are off.

Hawaii should remain in the 12th BCS Standings and beat Washington to qualify for 1 of the 5 BCS bowl games. The unbeaten Warriors can forget about playing in the national championship game until they much better, the competition begin playing.

College Football – Only 5 Games Highlight First Week, 29 Others Must Win Their Opener

Ah, finally opens to the initial kickoff of the 2008 NCAA college football season, scheduled Thursday (8-28-08) with 14 games, followed by 2 games Friday, 55 games Saturday, Sunday and 2 more 2 Monday. The most interesting game for the premiere of Buffalo is hosting Texas El Paso (UTEP).

Two years ago, Turner Gill took over the Buffalo head coach job. He only went 2-10 his first year but were defeated Kent State University, the first team with a winning record that had the BullsDefeat in 8 years. Buffalo had been a doormat in the NCAA for far too long.

Gill Bulls went 5-7 and 5-3 last year, first in the Mid-American Conference, Buffalo's conference since winning the Bulls was a Division IA school. Gill named MAC Coach of the Year. Turner Gill was part of 3 national championships as coach at Nebraska, and his positive influence in Buffalo is becoming increasingly evident.

UTEP is because of Mike Price, former Washington State interestingUniversity head coach of the Cougars, who had led for 14 years, creating three 10-win seasons, he (20-5 his last two seasons) and 5 bowl appearances.

Alabama listed Price away from Washington State but he has never coached the Crimson Tide by an off-field incident that resulted in a trial, the prize was won against the magazine Sports Illustrated. Price UTEP led to two consecutive 8-4 seasons and two bowl appearances, but then again had-to-back 5-7 and 4-8 seasons.

The Buffalo-UTEPGame is the most interesting game, because either Turner Gill and Buffalo continue to go up the ladder of success, or get Mike Price and UTEP will make a comeback. A trainer will win, and you will lose in this debate. We let you know what happens if you miss the results on the tube.

Here are my choices for the 4 other games of real interest this week, of which two teams participated in the preseason AP poll's top 25 ranked.

Nick Saban begins his second yearAlabama (Place No. 24) by a trip to Clemson (No. 9) for its opener. This was not what he had in mind when he signed on with the Crimson Tide, but then again, that's the Southeastern Conference (SEC), also known as (aka) suicidially energized the conference. Clemson from the Atlantic Coast Conference could be problems with a capital T.

The Big 12's is Missouri Tigers (No. 6) host Illinois (No. 20) from the Big Ten. Tigers Coach Gary Pinkel went 12-2 last year and stomped Arkansas38-7 in the Cotton Bowl. Heisman Trophy finalist Chase Daniel is back as quarterback for the Tigers.

All Daniel last year, throwing for 4300% 2B yards and 33 touchdown passes and compile to one QB rating of 147.9 (this is) not a typo.

The other two matches will highlight Colorado State travels to Colorado to be able to boast of in-state (this is no way to start the season for both teams), and Mark Dantonio, Michigan State Spartans travel to California. As an MSU alum, I would likeDantonio pointed out that he will face much tougher than California teams this season as Ohio State (No. 2), Michigan, Wisconsin (No. 13) and Penn State (No. 22).

Here are 21 teams in the AP poll, that their place win opener in order to justify their ranking of the season to:

Georgia (No. 1) hosts 1-AA Georgia Southern. Although there is an in-state rivalry, I very much doubt that Georgia is about to lose this game, especially if the Bulldogs planned to win the BCS national championship game thisYear.

Ohio State (No. 2) hosts AA Youngstown State. Buckeye coach Jim Tressel led Youngstown State to 4 I-AA national titles and 6 more berths, while playoff coaching at Youngstown State, and he has not forgotten where he came from, what Youngstown State a big payday, they do not enjoy otherwise.

Southern California (USC) (No. 3) travel to Virginia.

Oklahoma (No. 4) hosts AA Chattanooga. Are you serious, mate? I do not want to the University of TennesseeChattanooga.

Florida (No. 5) hosts Hawaii. Give some real kudos to Hawaii for the acquisition of a quality, top-5 team on the road in its opener.

Louisiana State (LSU) (No. 7) host Appalachian State. Last year, 1-AA Appalachian State had its start in the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan Wolverines upset the highly favored. Trust me when I say that Appalachian State is not sneaking up on LSU.

West Virginia (No. 8) hosts AA Villanova. Rich Rodriguez left West Virginia in the past yeara wider range of Michigan. Good luck, West Virginia.

Auburn (No. 10) hosts Louisiana-Monroe.

Texas (No. 11) hosts Florida Atlantic. Florida Atlantic could be for just a throbbing.

Texas Tech (No. 12) hosts AA Eastern Washington. Eastern Washington could only find out what an air raid in college football. Eastern Washington has no chance to win this game. Last year the Texas Tech Red Raiders were No. 1 nationally in passing offense, No. 2 in totalOffense, No. 4 in pass efficiency offense and No. 6 scoring offense. The game is over before it begins. Even prayer will not help to Eastern Washington.

Wisconsin (No. 13) hosts Akron.

Kansas (No. 14) hosts Florida International. Florida International could be nothing more than road kill after this trip.

Arizona State (No. 15) hosts AA Northern Arizona. Watch out, Sun Devils could surprise them in-state rivalries.

Brigham Young (BYU) (No. 16) hosts AANorthern Iowa.

Virginia Tech (No. 17) travel to East Carolina.

Tennessee (No. 18) travels to UCLA. This game marks debut Rick Neuheisel as head of the Bruins' coach after his "problems" and exit from the University of Washington. Neuheisel has to do some proof. Remember, a man named Norm Chow (think Southern California's national championship) team? He is Neuheisel offensive coordinator. The defensive coordinator is a guy named DeWayne Walker. Let's see if Neuheiseltogether can win a big upset and a first game for the Bruins, Neuheisel's alma mater.

South Florida (No. 19) hosts Tennessee-Martin. Can you believe that South Florida actually been as high as No. 2 nationally last year on space?

To save Oregon (No. 21) hosts Washington. Could Tyrone Willingham's Huskies find a way to win this game, and begin his coaching job in Washington?

Penn State (No. 22) hosts AA Coastal Carolina. Yikes, I would not wantCoastal Carolina.

Wake Forest (No. 23) travels to Baylor.

Pittsburgh (No. 25) hosts Bowling Green. Once again trying former NFL coach Dave Wannstedt received his alma mater to the Pittsburgh Panthers on the map as a major contender this season.

Here are 8 other unranked teams (teams are favored first), which had better win their opener, when they do diddly squat to expect this year:

Arizona hosts Idaho.

Arkansas hosts AA Western Illinois.

Boise State hosts Idaho AAState.

Boston College travels to Kent State.

Connecticut hosts AA Hofstra.

Kansas State hosts North Texas.

Michigan hosts Utah, USA.

Nebraska hosts Western Michigan.

Ness Notes (Jan 30)

Yesterday, there was no single 81-point efforts (Kobe), or 301-point games (Seattle / Phoenix), as last Sunday in the NBA. However, LeBron (Cavs) has 44 and Mike Bibby (Kings) 42, have the players they already have 55 40-point games in the current NBA season. For comparison: last year there were a total of almost 67 40-point games for the whole year. Tonight's NBA has an eight-game plan, by the Clippers in the heat and the Celtics highlighted in the Timberwolves.

My freeplay on Monday in College Hoops. Take advantage of Villanova over Louisville at 7:00 ET. This evening in college basketball, I'm just sharing my THIRD 22 * game of the season. 22 My pieces * my highest star rating and make are my selection 22nd Year in the industry. I do not often assign ratings 22 *, as I have just SIX featured throughout the season CFB (4-2) and, as mentioned, this is only my third start this year in CBB (2-0!). In the NBA, I'm winning when I return to the Cavs yesterday, with amy coveted 15 * in the NBA, now plays the evening!

The Clippers have won five straight games (also 5-0 ATS) and will try to get their first six-game winning streak since March 1992, when Larry Brown was the team coach. The Heat have lost important home games for both San Antonio and Phoenix in the last 10 days and could certainly use more than one of the better teams in the West to win. Wade is still bothered ankle problems, but he did score 32 points yesterday's 101-95 win over Houston. TheHeat favored by 4 1 / 2 points with a total area of 192nd

The Boston Celtics and T-Wolves signed seven players to trade just last week and will meet today evening in Minnesota. Both teams are 1-1 since the trade that come Szczerbiak and Olowokandi presented to Boston with Davis and Blount to Minnesota. Boston has won five straight at the Target Center, but is just 4-17 SU and 8-12-1 ATS on the road this year. The T-Wolves are favored by 6 1 / 2 points with a total area of 184th

Sunday's CollegeBasketball Highlights Washington saw its 13th straight loss Game at Maples Pavilion, 76-67 in OT for Stanford. Chris Hernandez hit three loss goals with two tenths of a second, still in the Regulation for the Cardinal and then outscored the Huskies 13-4 in OT.

Minnesota has its first Big 10 victory of the season after opening 0-6, by crushing No. 13 Indiana. The Gophers, who had scored less than 40% in all six of their conference losses, made the 26-shot-51. Indiana, the Big 10'sbest 3-point shooting team (46%) with only 5-of-23 three-pointers!

No. 9 West Va was the Big East Conference Lone play when they held on to beat undefeated St. John's, 66-61. The climbers with only a FG on the last 11 minutes of the game and almost blew a 13-point lead in the last three minutes of the game.

While there no longer are unbeaten teams in college basketball is gone, it will remain a lonely WinLESS team. Morgan State of the MEAC is 0-18 heading into their gametonight. Of former Louisville star Butch Beard, who coached the Golden Bears last year, followed by 14-16 DISASTER season this year! However, this could be the "night". Howard (today) evening opponent, is just 2-14 on the season and enters the contest on an eight-game losing streak, played out his fourth immediately from home!

Tonight's college basketball schedule features a 23-game card, but 13 of the games are "added" variety. ESPN starts the night with No. 22 LouisvilleNo. 6 Villanova (7:00 ET). The Cardinals are playing only 2-5 in the conference (on average just 61.9 PPG), after 12-1 in non-conference games. Villanova is 7-1 at home this year, losing only to West Virginia, the Wildcats are preferred 10 1 / 2 points with a total of 139 1 / 2. ESPN2 takes the last two games of TV triple header tonight with Texas Tech at Kansas (9:00 ET), and Hawaii at Utah State (midnight ET).

Texas Tech is 11-9 this year (an average of 22.5 wins per season in Knight's first fourYears) in Lubbock, and is just 1-7 SU and ATS away from home this season. Kansas, a very young team is beginning to come together. Added The Jayhawks have won 10 of their last 12, going 8-3 ATS. Kansas is favored by 13 1 / 2 points with a total of 140. Hawaii beat Utah State again on 17 December, 69-59. But this game is in Logan, where the Aggies 10-0, winning by an average score of 79-59. The Rainbows are 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS on the road. Utah State, in the first year of playing in the WAC,favored by 10 points with a total area of 129th

In my countdown to the Super Bowl XL, the Steelers to a four-point favorite (there are a couple of 3 1/2s still around) and the total is in fact, 47 (some 47 1/2s). It hardly seems like it was 39 years ago, when Lombardi's Packers beat Stram's Chiefs in the first game. It was not known as Super Bowl time, but the AFL-NFL World Championship Game. It was played in the LA Coliseum, with CBS the implementation of the game on its NFL and NBC to publicthe AFL audience (first and last!).

Face value of the tickets were only $ 12 and it is unlikely scalpers had much "luck", there were only 61,946 present, about 30,000 shy of capacity. More to come tomorrow.

Ness Notes is available Monday through Friday from 1:00 ET available. Saturday and Sunday, from 9:00 am ET, it is available.

Dogs and Homeowners Insurance – How to Find Breed Friendly Home Insurance

How is a dog to your homeowners insurance premiums? What kind of dogs caused increase your home insurance rates or even possibly cause you will not be eligible for coverage? Is it possible to find affordable homeowners insurance even with a dog? In the U.S., owners of certain breeds of dogs are by giving homeowners insurance carriers that their dogs, or risk having their homeowners insurance canceled or not at all saying that the renewed end of the contractPeriod.

In most states it is legal bill for homeowners insurance increased premiums on the breed of dog. While there is no standard list of "high risk" dogs between different insurers, are just some of the breeds that are targeted most frequently, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinscher, Pit Bulls, Huskies, Malamutes, Chow Chows, German Mastiff, and Saint – Bernard.

With one third of all homeowners filed insurance claims as aResult of dog bites are, insurance carriers have been increasingly reluctant to the owners, the races, the statistics, to insure to lead to injuries. In 2006 35.14 million, the cost of insurance coverage alone spent dog bites.

STATISTICS ABOUT DOG BITES

– Of all the childhood visits to the hospital emergency room, dog bites second place as the leading cause of injuries.

– 60% of all dog bites involve children. These include the family dog andDogs, the child is not known.

– Each year, the number of Americans that suffer from dog bites more than 4.7 million.

– Rottweilers and Pit Bulls more than 50% of all dog attacks. (A dog is 80% more likely to bite than a bitch.)

– Surveys show that about 40% of households have a dog or dogs, and that the majority of dog bites occur in or near the house where the dog lives.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE COMPANIES between different when I'm AN OWNERA "dangerous BREED '?

Some insurers have a home, a list of breeds and crosses, which are taken from the cover, and you will not be able to pursue a policy of homeowners from them, as long as you own and get the breed of the dog. That is their policy, regardless of how long you have been in the possession or the dog, how sweet temperament.

Some insurance carriers are eligible to draw dogs, based on a case and forbid not automatically insured a dog on the race. Your homeowners insurance questionnaire cananyone bitten include questions like: "Does your dog?" or "Has your dog been trained to bite or attack?" The question of whether a dog bite or attack provoked into consideration will be given. If in the past a dog, an incident unprovoked attack on someone who has had, most insurers do not offer coverage, and in many cases not to renew a policy.

Some insurers offer liability insurance coverage, but require higher premiums if you are the owner of a "high risk" dog. WithClaims against the sky are rapidly formed in the area of injuries caused by dog bites and "dangerous breeds" have increased their insurance premiums to offset the costs in the same way homeowners are not required to pay higher premiums in areas where the wind has caused so much damage.

Some home insurers will need those who bites a homeowners policy with them for a waiver of liability for dog sign. All this means that if the homeowner needs is liability insurance for his dog, hehave a separate policy to buy, and of course, that means more money paid in premiums.

What's going on in legislation "dangerous dogs"? Laws on dangerous dogs and homeowners insurance vary from state to state. Created in the state of Illinois, Bill, H184, a definition of "dangerous dogs" and "bad" dogs. It also outlines specific requirements for the owners of these dogs and sets the penalties for the violation of these standards. In addition, all dogs are nowmust be vaccinated against rabies. Inside the bill H184, was safe, responsible also given for counties that did not previously have. This law now allows districts to micro-chipping dogs need, and they also require the power to animal and litter registration fees.

In Palos Heights, a city in Cook County, Illinois, a micro-chipping claim was lodged into place. The City Council approved a regulation that requires not only owners of dogs classified as"dangerous", micro-chip their dogs, but they are also obliged to pay, take a $ 100,000 liability insurance for their pet. According to their definition, a "dangerous dog is that" exhibits extremely aggressive behavior towards threatening people or pets allowed, and only for injury or death of humans or animals. "As a result, prevent the definition of" dangerous dogs "have held in their home or in a secure facility. Outside trips are prohibited unless a veterinary visit mustbe made. The muzzle is also a prerequisite for the dog to a vet visit.

At the end of the insurance law is pending that would prohibit insurers form of dismissal or refusal to report exclusively on the breed of a dog. Several other states, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Vermont and Washington have similar laws in the works. Michigan and Pennsylvania have a law in force that makes it illegal for homeowners insurance coverage denied on the basisbreed.

How do I find HOMEOWNERS insurance cover for my dog?

Call around. This will be attending some care on your own, but there are some insurance carriers that offer coverage on a case by case basis and not discriminate against a race. This seems to keep the American Kennel Association position of "punishing the deed not the breed." Shopping, is the key to finding homeowners insurance.

If your dog has some sort of obedience training completedTo put program, unless the documentation for the insurers. If your dog is not in an obedience program participated, as if that would help you get liability insurance, or you a better rate.

Finally, if your dog has a dog less than stellar history, you may need to cover a separate liability policy for the purchase of your dog.

Whatever you choose – be sure to shop around and compare homeowners insurance quotes from several companies. Shopping, is the keyonly to find cover for your pet and home that you need, but also save money in the process.

College Football 2007 – There Are Poll Pretenders, 9 of 25 Top Teams Get a Reality Check

(Editor's Note: All rankings are used in this article are used by the AP Top 25 Poll and all the team ratings by Sagarin, the Gold Standard under the rating services).

In the world of college football, there are pretenders and contenders. Nine of the top-25-LD-3 of the top teams, and 5 received a reality check over the weekend.

Was I surprised at this annual event? Hardly. When you analyze how some of the teams that started 4-0 weeks and ended at 4-1, it is so easyin order to see how your face in a mirror. The reality is a way to all of the wrinkles and weaknesses.

For opener, there is the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners to a Big 12 Conference game with a 27-24 loss last second field goal in Colorado, the buffalo. Oklahoma dropped to No. 10 in the Top 25.

The Sooners have to beat their high No. 3 ranking to No. 170 rated North Texas, No. 145 Rated Utah State, No. 58 Rated Tulsa and No. 44 Rated Miami (FL). Their offensive was great scores oneach, but their strength was planned as only the 100th best in the country.

Urban Meyer and his defending national champion Florida Gators did not fare any better. They lost 20-17 at home by a field goal to Auburn in an SEC conference game. Florida was behind 17-3 going into the 4th Quarter.

The loss continued a 11-game winning streak for the Gators, who suffered their first defeat at home under Urban Meyer. Meyer's team had 18 victories in-a-row at home, 17 since Meyer took over in 2005.

TheGators have their No. 4 ranking the best of No. 110 Western Kentucky, Mississippi, No. 85, No. 77 and No. 32 Tennessee, Troy, an SEC opponent. Beating Tennessee is what vaulted Florida in the rankings. Florida fell to No. 9 in the rankings.

No. 5 West Virginia, No. 18 ran smack into South Florida in Big East face-off in South Florida and lost 21-13. Coach Jim Leavitt and his South Florida Bulls are quickly becoming the team nobody wants to face, and the history ofCollege football season.

West Virginia dropped from No. 5 to 13 in the rankings while No. South Florida moved up from No. 18 6. No

West Virginia has its No. 5 ranking by taking down No. 129 Marshall, No. 94 Western Michigan, East Carolina, No. 74 and No. 51 Maryland. Mountaineer fans who expected to win West Virginia to go undefeated this year and the national title have to regroup.

No. 7 Texas, was actually discovered and embarrassed at home against Kansas State in another Big12 play as the Wildcats dumped on the Longhorns, 41-21. I have questions about size of Texas since the beginning of the year, and now my suspicions have been validated.

Texas got to 4-0 defeat No. 162 Rice, No. 100 Arkansas, Central Florida, No. 73 and No. 54 TCU. Particularly telling Central Florida, Texas, who fight through the field, while giving up 32 points target. Texas, who is rated No. 25 by Sagarin, fell to No. 19, a much more realistic place for the Longhorns toLounge.

No. 10 Rutgers, the darlings of the Big East, upset at home by Maryland, 34-24, and fell to 21 No. I think Rutgers soon drop out of the top 25 as two 5-0 teams in the Big East no. 20 unranked Cincinnati and Connecticut – are overlooked.

Rutgers grew to 10 by whipping up on No. No. 208 AA Norfolk State, No. 142 and No. 68 Buffalo Marine. Good grief, talk about a lame schedule. They deserve what they get.

Sagarin rates Rutgers at No. 38, also seemshigh to me right now.

No. 11 Oregon hosts California and 6 in a Pac 10 matchup Journal and led 14-10 going into the 4th Quarter, but the Bears scored three touchdowns in the last 15 minutes, in order to put away, 31-24.

Even worse, the ducks seemed to Cameron Colvin to be what the bond touchdown in the closing seconds, but he sought, and the ball went out of the endzone, so that a touch-back California and a victory when the game was reviewed. Duck fans at Autzen Stadium detectedthat can play moving, they have tasted a national championship on the road.

Oregon fell to 14 in the Top 25 and No. California rose from No. 6 No. 3

No. 13 Clemson traveled to Georgia Tech and saw his dream season to start, as the Yellow Jacket defense has to disentangle the Tigers a field goal to win, 13-3. Clemson fell to 22 No.

The Tigers climbed into the Top 25 of handling No. 154 AA Furman, No. 133, Louisiana-Monroe, North Carolina State No. 87 Florida and No. 21State. Clemson got into the championship game against No. 21-rated Florida State 24-18 in the opener.

Sagarin rates Clemson No. 34, in which no near the top-25. Clemson could drop out of the top 25 in a heartbeat.

Joe Paterno's No. 21 Penn State Nittany Lions started the season before to 3-0 defeat against a rejuvenated Michigan in the Big House, 14-9, and now loses its second Big 10 game in Illinois, Illinois, 27-20.

Going on the road in Big 10 Conference games is suddenly difficultfor Penn State, as it came directly out of the top-25.

Again, Penn State began his day by football at levels above the worst Division 1-A school to college, No. 171 Florida International, 7 worst team in Division 1-A, No. 142, Buffalo, and the seemingly hapless and winless No. 95 Notre Dame. What were the fans thinking in Happy Valley? A national championship? Think again.

No. 22 Alabama was the 9th to lose the top 25 teams when first year coach Nick Saban andhis Crimson Tide a visit to Florida State and lost 21-14. Alabama came right out of the top 25 before, after arriving just one week. Sagarin rates now in Alabama, No. 39

I thought Saban would have thought Alabama rising; I now have to adjust my expectations for the Crimson Tide.

And so nasty 9-Oklahoma, Florida, West Virginia, Texas, Rutgers, Oregon, Clemson, Penn State and Alabama-all fell, but managed the number 1 USC Trojans, defeated by Washington hard to escapeat Husky Stadium with a field goal 27-24.

USC committed 16 Penalties and threw 2 interceptions, lost a fumble and suffered a blocked punt, and yet there was a perfect 5-0 record to keep. The 2-3 Washington Huskies are not exactly a powerhouse are still too shabby rated No. 27 by Sagarin, no.

The fact that so inconspicuously slipped USC to No. 2, the LSU Tigers took the lead.

LSU blew past No. 144-rated in-state rival Tulane, 34-9 tear after No. 57Mississippi State 45-0, No. 28 Virginia Tech 48-7, and No. 125 Middle Tennessee 44-0. Best LSU win came at home against No. 17 South Carolina 28-16. Sagarin rates LSU No. 1 in the country.

Only one game really caught my attention spotting and No. 9 Wisconsin, Michigan State was 34 points, and then win by a field goal at home. The Badgers climbed to No. 5 in the Top 25.

I still think Wisconsin is not so good. Sagarin rates Wisconsin at No. 24 The Badgers still haveAway games in Illinois, Pennsylvania State University and Ohio State, then host Michigan. After these 4 games, which I doubt is, Wisconsin is 11-0 in their last game in Minnesota.

Start losing teams in the Top 25 at this point in the season because they are planning an early target weak teams to their players the confidence to get into the Top 25 rankings of giving boosters hope, and bring to their programs.

Once the game starts conference, found that messing around is over, the evil 9over the weekend.

Christmas is a Special Time to Enjoy Seattle Attractions

Seattle may not get much snow, but there are a lot of Christmas spirit, and that there is a special place for a Christmas shopping weekend makes.

Seattle Center Westlake Center to the Pike Place Market, the usual visitor attractions are just a little more about the special day, a cool winter day. Crowds of enthusiastic, bundled-up families and couples sample of the seasonal offers on Westlake as Quest Carousel travels, or the kettle corn and elephant ears in the vicinity. Christmas music iseverywhere, while the vendors make balloon animals for the children.

Make it an overnight trip and it is even better. First, you will be safe for the many Christmas lights along the downtown streets, including the famous star to see Macy's, the Space Needle Lights and many other special seasonal touches. And the night, you can make a real weekend on a shopping spree.

Our base of operations was a Seattle landmark, the Edgewater Hotel. You may recall that the Edgewater was celebrated in the sixties when the Beatles stayed there and fished directly from her window. In fact, it was the obvious choice for many famous rock groups that came into the city during this period for an impressive cliffs Pat O'Dea play concerts.

Today, the Edgewater has a classical elegance, the best location in Seattle with an updated interior design, that the rich Northwest Native American heritage combines recalls. The first thing we saw was on entry into our room a water> Washington State Ferry – just out the window and in the waters of Elliott Bay. We believe that gave us the feeling we were going on a cruise ship with nothing but water between us and the ferry. This is of course the main attraction of the proper name for Edgewater – a place literally on the water with incredible views of Puget Sound and nearby islands.

Our room featured Northwest many accents such as a log headboard on our comfortable king-size bed, bark and wood panel trimabove the fireplace, Native American designs on the carpets with knotty pine baseboards and Indian figures and patterns on the wood-frame entertainment center. In the bathroom, a large claw-style tub looked awfully inviting, while the stylish colors and fixtures in the room look like something you see in a magazine about interior made. The floors were amber quartz slate, while the rooms and a glassed-European spa shower.

A room at the Edgewater –The constant parade of boats right outside your window properties – it is the temptation to just stay there and enjoy the endless sights and sounds. But we came to Seattle to the city of Christmas activities, the first address of the Pike Place Market, a few blocks and was easy walking distance to the Edgewater.

The market is one of the landmarks of Seattle – right up there with the Space Needle. That has probably something to do with the way TV sports channel announcer everto show a point shots in the market, while broadcasters Seattle Seahawks Washington Huskies or sports broadcasts. In general, the shot belongs to the fish handlers throw King Salmon – so we were glad that, the fish were flying when we arrived, in fact. Like the 50 or so standing around to see other visitors, we had for ourselves the famous Pike Place Market throwing fish to see.

Those fish handlers in their sweat suits, hoodies and skirts are not the onlyReason for the stop by the market at Christmas time. The market is everything in its decoration and in fact, have Christmas trees available – we did not want a basket back to Edgewater. Take a walk north of the first fish market and give a hive of activity where it seems like just about anything you want, is for sale – fresh fruits and produce, honey, herbs, dried flower bouquets, jams and jellies, nuts, fruits , chocolate, t-shirts, bags, you name it. There are actuallyseveral fish markets in the same building, as well as restaurants, where fresh fish to eat before you even leave the market ..

Just across the street from the market, before Starbucks, a musical group called Slimpickens warming up the crowd with lively music style in 1930 in a four-piece was played Configuration: guitar, bass, fiddle and washboard. Dressed in 30's garb, the group also appeared to be always a world economic crisis, the response to their music: a lot of smilesand toe-tapping, but not many coins fall into their prominently placed cup.

In addition, we found around here Piroshky, Piroshky, a tiny take-out restaurant serving fresh Russian piroshkies for just under $ 5. These are just cooked, and if you're wondering, is the piroshky filled a little like a flakey turnover with meat, cheese or other fillings. They are delicious and for us, provided a quick and inexpensive lunch.

Some friends of ours went instead from Grand City Café,only a few blocks from the market on Pine Street, where the food was good, but they reported back that this is the first time that she had met at a dose of champagne. It can ordered a split of champagne and that was delivered to the table, had attached a straw – that our friends said she remembered drinking at the fruit they get boxes for their children. Of course, that's what the visit of the "Big City" all about experience – new things.

A few blocks from the market in Westlake Center, amodern, multi-story shopping center with elegant shops, and – because of its location near Macy's and Nordstrom – the epicenter of retail activity downtown. It is here that for only $ 2 each way, you can hop on board the monorail – originally built for the Seattle World's Fair in 1962, the world – and even more zip to Seattle Center, where she continued Winterfest celebration holiday entertainment and one of the coolest model trains and miniature Christmas towns has always seeing your children.

Soon it wasTime to get back to Edgewater, where we saw the fog roll in and marveled at how the few boats that have been made on this winter could evade Washington State Ferries. Thank God for fog horns and radar would, we suspect. Just a few minutes walk from the Edgewater is the Spaghetti Factory, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner, but inexpensive.

The night was restful, and when the sun came the next day, the sky was blue and the view from our room was like aPostcard. No need to lose this view, while the breakfast – the bottom of the Edgewater, we stopped for a hearty meal with the best views in town at the award-winning hotel Six Seven restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices, as the restaurant in a prime location and superior reputation.

Further exploration of the inner city was on tap for our second day, with no shortage of the commodity at unusually low prices. Soon it was time to go home, but it was notlike a trip home from the mall, where you are exhausted and vow never to shopping with the masses to go again. Yes, we achieved our Christmas shopping in order – but we also felt by a memorable holiday trip to Seattle's Winter Wonderland strengthened.
